Step 6 of 10 in this module#926 of 1,000

6. Self-Hosting n8n: The Zero Per-Task Fee Advantage

Part 10 • Zapier vs. n8n as the "Automation Glue" (iPaaS)

The ability to self-host n8n on a cheap virtual private server (VPS) (e.g., from DigitalOcean, Vultr, AWS Lightsail) for as little as $5-$10 per month completely changes the economics of automation. Once it's set up, you pay a flat server fee, and n8n itself is free to run an unlimited number of tasks. This is game-changing for high-volume operations or for automations that run very frequently, as it eliminates the per-task billing that can quickly make Zapier prohibitively expensive.
