Generic CRMs (e.g., Mailchimp, Kit / ConvertKit, MailerLite) are standard tools for email marketing. However, take note of recent platform shifts: Mailchimp drastically curtailed its free tier to just 500 contacts (down from 2,000) with strict monthly send limits and paywalled automations. For budget-conscious artists, MailerLite (free plan with automated workflows, subscriber cap has changed recently so check current limits) or Kit (generous free plan) offer significantly better starting value. Even so, the fundamental limitation of all generic CRMs for musicians is a lack of native music ecosystem integration. They don't inherently track Spotify pre-saves, tour ticketing radius, or streaming engagement, requiring manual tagging or complex webhook setups.
