3. Deep Dive: Print-Ready File Specifications

Part 1 • Creating Your First Product Listings

To ensure the best possible print quality, your artwork file should adhere to technical best practices. The file should be a PNG to support transparency. The resolution must be at least 150 DPI (Dots Per Inch), but 300 DPI is the professional standard for ensuring a crisp, clear print. The color profile should be sRGB, which is standard for most web images. When you export your design from a program like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva, look for an option to export as a PNG with a transparent background. A large canvas size (e.g., 4500x5400 pixels) is ideal for apparel, as it gives you the flexibility to print large without losing quality.
