Step 3 of 10 in this module#373 of 1,000

3. The Role of the Meta/TikTok Pixels (and CAPI)

Part 4 • Function of Remarketing Systems Using Pixels

Remarketing systems rely on tracking codes, or "pixels," embedded on your website (or Smartlink landing pages). These pixels (Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel) place a small, anonymous cookie on a user's browser (if they haven't opted out) when they visit your site. This cookie flags them as a "visitor." This data is then sent back to the ad platform (Meta, TikTok). With the rise of privacy restrictions (iOS 14.5+), the Conversions API (CAPI, Module 85) is crucial for ensuring this data is accurately collected server-side, bypassing browser limitations.
