Step 4 of 10 in this module#184 of 1,000

4. The Popularity Score Multiplier Effect

Part 2 • How the Waterfall Strategy Compounds Momentum

Spotify's Popularity Score (Module 35) is crucial here. The Waterfall strategy acts as a multiplier for your Popularity Score. As each track (ISRC) accumulates streams, saves, and playlist adds, its individual Popularity Score increases. When these tracks are then bundled into a new UPC (e.g., the 2-track EP), some marketers believe the combined strength of their individual scores lifts the new product too, though Spotify has not confirmed how release-level scores are calculated. This positive feedback loop means that by the time your final album is released, it is landing on Spotify with a much higher inherent Popularity Score than if it had been released traditionally.
