The biggest challenge in executing the Waterfall Strategy is ensuring your distributor understands and correctly implements the UPC/ISRC management. Most distributors are set up for traditional releases. When you submit a track for a multi-track release (like an EP), you must explicitly state that previously released tracks should reuse their original ISRCs. Do not assume they will do this automatically. It may require a specific email or note in the submission form. If your distributor makes a mistake, insist that they fix it, as it directly impacts your algorithmic momentum.
